He holds a B.sc in Finance and Banking from the University of Port-Harcourt (1998), a Certified National Accountant (CNA) from the College of Accountancy Jos and a Member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria (ICEN).
Rene Okpara has a cumulative of 20 years working experience spanning from public service to private sector. He worked in the services of the Federal Capital Territory Administration from 2001- 2016 where he rose to Management position before he resigned to take up a top Management position as Special Assistant/ Key Accounts Manager to the CEO of First Index Group and Index Petrolube Africa Limited, a private oil and gas company with major investments in the downstream and upstream sector of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and the Republic of Congo.
